Game 2: Titan Classic: first round vs Derby

1 September @ Wichita South @ 1:00 vs. Derby

We opened the Titan Classic against 2013 6A Final 4, Derby.  Besides the drive down, always a tough adjustment, the grass field really affected play more as the pace was so much slower than Friday.

We lead only 1-0 at half, but we had not allowed a corner or a shot.  We had also generated 4 corners ourselves.

We ended the match with 7, with 24 shots, so decent productions considering everything.

We did generate some interest as the entire sideline was lined with locals viewing the match.

We will return Friday to take on the winner of the Dodge City/Wichita Northwest match.  That game will be another grass match. If we can get to the finals, we will play on turf Saturday.

BWhite named Luke Kutey BWhite Player of the Match. He got a big goal for us, stretching the lead to two.  But, of all players, he still looked fast.  His long throw continues to be a weapon as well.

STATS: First Half: Saints: Shots 10 (3), Corners: 5 (Bartlett 2, Heying,Brown)

Derby: Shots: 0. Corners: 0

Second Half: Saints: Shots: 14 (4), Corners: 3 (Feuerborn, Nilsen, Geist)
